Standard commercially manufactured motors often operate without safety buffers, leading to thermal shutdowns or rapid gear wear under multi-axial load stresses.
Omni-directional mobility platforms, typically featuring Mecanum wheels or multi-axis steered casters, require drive systems that can withstand rapid direction changes and heavy radial loads. In conventional gear motors, changing dynamic axial loads leads to internal gear misalignment, causing structural failure, teeth stripping, or efficiency drop.
